Store Will Offer Free Brewed Coffee For First Week

Muskegon, Mich., September 21, 2008 – East Lansing Mich.-based BIGGBY COFFEE will celebrate the opening of its first location in Muskegon on Tuesday, September 23.  The store is located at 3295 Henry Street in Muskegon, across the street from Meijer.  The Muskegon area location opens under the direction of franchise veteran Pete Gawkowski and his business partner Deb Smith.

Gawkowski has been in the franchise business for close to a decade and currently operates 16 Subway restaurants in West Michigan.  “I started as a loyal BIGGBY customer years ago, so I know what makes the whole experience unique from the other side of the counter.  When I was looking for my next franchise opportunity, I knew that BIGGBY COFFEE was it and I’m proud to bring the experience to Muskegon.”

The new location will offer free brewed coffee during its first week of operation in celebration of its grand opening. The store is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

BIGGBY COFFEE combines its signature coffee drinks with free wireless internet access, flat screen televisions, drive-through service and plentiful soft seating—all standard features that are part of the Muskegon store.

The Muskegon location marks the 103^rd store for the rapidly-growing East Lansing-based franchise concept which has doubled in size every two years since its inception.  BIGGBY COFFEE currently operates 102 stores in nine states, and has an additional 65 stores under contract to open during the next 24 months.

The new store will bring nearly 20 new full and part-time jobs to the area.
