BIGGBY COFFEE CO-CEOS TO SPEAK AT TEDx DETROIT
BIGGBY® COFFEE Story to Be Featured at TEDx Detroit Nov 6
East Lansing, MI, November 5, 2019–Built on the dreams of two young Michigan men, BIGGBY® COFFEE has become a staple in specialty coffee in Michigan and surrounding states. Growing quickly, this brand, known for their core values of “Make friends, have fun, be yourself, and share great coffee,” not only sells some of the finest coffee around, they have the values to back it up. Co-CEOs Bob Fish and Mike McFall will be featured guests at the TEDx Detroit 2019 conference on Wednesday, November 6, as they share the BIGGBY® COFFEE story.
Alongside authors, actors, musicians, leading businessmen and women, educators, and entrepreneurs, Fish and McFall will be sharing the BIGGBY® COFFEE story like never heard before. Between building the lives they love, Bob and Mike—or BAM as they are affectionately known—are building a brand that not only creates impeccable products but does good for the environment and those on it. Leaders in conscious capitalism and on a journey to create a business model that benefits people and the planet as equally as profit, Fish and McFall are defying limits daily.
As Fish and his wife, Michelle, travel the world to meet fair trade coffee farms, organic tea farms, and more, they are on a mission to find those businesses across the world working to do good and use BIGGBY® COFFEE as a vessel to support them. With a mission to travel to 150 countries in his lifetime and personally change the lives of one million people in a positive multi-generational way, Fish is a warehouse of knowledge, kindness, and has a lot to share.
McFall, whom started as a barista at the original Beaner’s Coffee and worked his way to co-CEO, is an example that with hard work, dedication, and persistence anything is possible. With the release of his new book, Grind, McFall explores the early stages of business and how to establish a positive cash flow. But you won’t hear this co-CEO using unrecognizable language, sporting an MBA, or traveling on a yacht; he’s an everyday guy with everyday solutions, and is as approachable as the barista serving the coffee.
Together, through trial and error, taking risks, never giving up, and focusing on others, Fish and McFall create an unstoppable team with a unique perspective on business, life, and everything in between. Their story is one not to be missed at TEDxDetroit, November 6.
BIGGBY® COFFEE, East Lansing, Mich.-based, was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and Michael McFall, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s cultural values of Make Friends, Have Fun, B Yourself, and Share Great Coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet cafe paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear® and Caramel Marvel®, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customers’ day and supporting them in building a life they love. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has more than 230 cafes across 9 states and counting including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas. In 2018, BIGGBY® launched an Area Representative Program and currently has 8 Area Representatives in 6 states.
