A cup of free Biggby coffee in Mason

If you’ve ever read a story or seen an interview with a financial planner, then you know there are a few things that they always recommend when it comes to saving money.

The list includes things like buying a used car as opposed to leasing or buying a new one, getting a roommate if you live alone, using cash as opposed to your debit card and, worst of all, cutting out your trips to the local coffee shop for your latte or fresh-brewed daily mug.

While it’s hard to deal with any of these cutbacks, coffee is often the hardest. It seems like in the rush to get to work in the morning, making coffee is our last priority. But by 3 p.m. in the afternoon, walking or driving to the local cafe for a pick-me-up is a great idea. Bad news for your budget.

But fear not. The newest Biggby Coffee location can help you out with that for a few days. The Mason store, at 661 N. Cedar St., which opened May 13, is giving away free brewed coffee through Sunday, May 18 to celebrate its opening.

So while it’s not a permanent solution, it gets you your coffee fix for free — for a little while.
