Location Expands, Celebrates with Live Performance by Local Musician, Nich Mueller on May 27th

KALAMAZOO, MICH., May 24, 2011 – Now more than ever, bigger and better (and of course, never bitter) describes Kalamazoo’s Stadium Drive BIGGBY COFFEE perfectly! An additional 600 sq. feet have been added to the location, which will host the “Even Bigger B” celebration on Friday, May 27thfrom 5-9 p.m.

The event will feature live musical performances including Kalamazoo’s own singer/songwriter, Nich Mueller and $1 off all Grande beverages! Not only can guests groove to the live music, but they will also be among the first to see the store’s new layout. Some of the new features include, additional seating, a private space for meetings and/or study groups and plenty of open space for live music and other types of performances.

“There isn’t another place in the area like this where people can enjoy live music and the BIGGBY COFFEE experience at the same time,” Store Owner/Operator, Kyle Kinney said. “I’m glad I can provide that now for my community and hope we are able to create a buzz and showcase some of the local talent we have in Kalamazoo.”

Mueller and his band will perform songs from his recently released Album, “All in a Day.” Last month, the album received a DownBeat Student Music Award, which is a nationwide awards competition for high school and collegiate students.

Mueller has performed previously at Kinney’s BIGGBY COFFEE location and Kinney now hopes the larger space will allow for more people to enjoy the show while providing a better concert atmosphere.

“We have a really nice, spacious setup that I think a lot of residents from Kalamazoo and the surrounding areas will benefit from and enjoy,” Kinney said. “Teaming up with community like this is one thing I love about being a BIGGBY COFFEE franchise owner.”

Located at 3216 Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, the location also features a convenient drive-thru and is open Monday- Friday 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 132 cafes open or under contract across six states including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.  For more information, visit
