BIGGBY® COFFEE Alma Partnered with 12 Organizations in 2015
Alma, MI, April 22, 2016–One of the BIGGBY® COFFEE core values is “engaging the community—giving is getting” and BIGGBY® tries to instill that its owner/operators from the day they open their doors. BIGGBY® Alma owner/operator MaryAnne MacIntosh has been actively partnering with local organizations since her 2013 grand opening. In 2015, the Alma staff partnered with 12 groups total and donated hundreds of dollars to their local community!

MaryAnne and her baristas have brought coffee to local cheerleading competitions and helped purchase books for the Alma Middle School Reading Program, among many other things! The 12 organizations total include Child Advocacy, United Way, American Red Cross, Alma Fire Department, Resurrection Life Church, Relay for Life, Alma College Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Big Brothers Big Sisters, VFW Youth Group, Central MI Youth for Christ, Alma Cheer, and Alma Middle School. The families that surround the Alma BIGGBY® enjoy more than just happy baristas serving great coffee. They have friends, a support system, and a promise of investment in the community that cares for them too.
BIGGBY® COFFEE, East Lansing, Mich.-based, was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and his business partner Michael McFall, on a handshake and $3,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s core values of B happy, have fun, make friends, love people, and drink great coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customer’s day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has 258 cafes open or under contract across nine states including: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas.
