BIGGBY® COFFEE BREWING CHANGE WITH THIS BAR SAVES LIVES
BIGGBY® COFFEE Launches Second Annual National Food Bank Initiative
East Lansing, MI, February 7, 2019–February 18-24 BIGGBY® COFFEE will be partnering with Michigan native Kristen Bell and This Bar Saves Lives, the company she co-founded with fellow partners Ryan Devlin, Todd Grinnell, and Ravi Patel, for their second annual national food bank initiative. BIGGBY® COFFEE looks forward to this initiative as a way to provide meals to their neighboring families in need. They are very excited about their partnership with This Bar Saves Lives, as this will allow them the opportunity to reach even more families throughout the globe.
As customers visit participating BIGGBY® COFFEE locations, they have the opportunity to donate funds to help feed families in need. Even a $1 donation can provide multiple meals to families in need. To thank them for their generosity, for every $1 donated BIGGBY® COFFEE will be offering a $1 coupon toward their next visit. The money donated to each BIGGBY® COFFEE will go to a food bank agency within the stores local market, so customers can rest assured that the money they donate will remain in their community.
With a purpose that “we exist to love people,” BIGGBY® COFFEE is making great efforts to help support people in building lives they love and sometimes that means providing basic food necessities. Brewing Change food bank initiatives allow BIGGBY® COFFEE to make a difference in the communities they live, work, and play.
To make a difference globally, BIGGBY® COFFEE has partnered with This Bar Saves Lives, a delicious snack company that sends life-saving food to children in need around the world with every purchase. These bars will be featured in stores throughout this period to reward those that donate $5 or more. Partnering with This Bar Saves Lives gives BIGGBY® COFFEE the opportunity to touch even more hearts and homes, widening their scope of reach to a global level.
When $5 or more is donated, customers will receive a free This Bar Saves Lives snack bar. With every bar, BIGGBY® COFFEE and their customers help This Bar Saves Lives to provide dozens of meals to children in need in Haiti and part of Africa. As an added bonus, customers will receive a postcard featuring a quote from and image of Kristen Bell, co-founder of This Bar Saves Lives, and further information on the nationwide campaign being run by BIGGBY® COFFEE.
During the last food bank initiative, BIGGBY® COFFEE locations throughout the nation donated $29,764 to local food banks. This year, they’re hoping to raise even more than that, on top of the number of children in Haiti and Africa that will be helped through the partnership with This Bar Saves Lives.

BIGGBY® COFFEE, East Lansing, Mich.-based, was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and Michael McFall, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s cultural values of Make Friends, Have Fun, B Yourself, and Share Great Coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet cafe paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear® and Caramel Marvel®, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customer’s day and supporting them in building a life they love. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has 277 cafes open or under contract across 10 states including: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, and New Jersey. In 2018, BIGGBY® launched an Area Representative Program and currently has 8 area representatives in 6 states.
