In Store Special Helps Raise Funds For Coppell Baseball Association

COPPELL, TEXAS, April 14, 2011 – With Baseball season in full swing, BIGGBY COFFEE Coppell, 230 N. Denton Tap Rd., is stepping up to the plate and hosting a two month fundraiser supporting the Coppell Cowboys Little League baseball teams, a division of the Coppell Baseball Association (CBA).

Until June 11, $1 from every full priced Grande or Super beverage purchased at the location will support all Coppell Cowboys teams ages 7-14 and help fund everything from player registration fees, to new equipment and field maintenance. Customers can download and print the $1 donation voucher at: http://bit.ly/hfDp5T

BIGGBY COFFEE Coppell opened its door less than a year ago and for franchise owner, Stan Newman, it was his belief in “giving is getting” that originally sparked his interest in partnering with the CBA. However, for the former Little Leaguer, joining forces with the Coppell Cowboys is about much more than just baseball.

“Little League helps to develop young boys into men and teaches them the importance of hard work, dependability and what it means to be a part of a team,” Newman said. “Just being around the organization has brought back great memories from when I was a kid and when I coached my sons and their friends. I’m glad now I can give back, especially right in my own community.”

The fundraiser officially began last Saturday, April 9, at the CBA Opening Day Parade in which Stan sold BIGGBY brewed coffee and Hot Chocolate to those in attendance. From his proceeds, Newman agreed to donate $1.50 from each cup sold back to the CBA, which he will combine with the money raised from the in store fundraiser.

“We are so thankful to BIGGBY COFFEE and to the entire Newman family for their support and willingness to team with our organization,” said Kristi Valentine, the Director of Partnerships, Booster Club and Fundraising for the CBA. “In a town of about 40,000 residents, community support and partnerships with local businesses like Biggby go a long way for all parties involved.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®

East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 130 cafes open or under contract across six states including: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.  For more information, visit www.biggby.com.
