BIGGBY® COFFEE Continues to Fight Hunger Nationally

East Lansing, MI, February 19, 2019–As BIGGBY® COFFEE’s second food bank initiative begins in BIGGBY® COFFEE locations throughout the nation, BIGGBY® COFFEE looks forward to the opportunity to provide meals to those in need and continue the efforts they started in 2017 as they work toward brewing change in their communities.

With a purpose that they exist to help support people in building lives they love, BIGGBY® COFFEE takes seriously that there are people in all communities that go without each day. In an effort to contribute to this need, BIGGBY® COFFEE developed the food bank initiative as a way to brew up change throughout the communities their BIGGBY® COFFEE locations live in. While the food bank initiative lasts one week, there is a large opportunity to fight hunger at an exponential rate during this time. In 2017, BIGGBY® COFFEE locations across the United States donated over $29,000 to local food banks.

During this time, stores are also encouraged to pair this initiative with toiletry drives and volunteering at the food banks they are supporting. Not only does this fulfill a need for volunteers but it allows BIGGBY® COFFEE employees the opportunity to bond together while getting to know the ones they’re helping.

The 2019 food bank initiative takes it one step further with their partnership with This Bar Saves Lives. Through this partnership, BIGGBY® COFFEE has helped provide life-saving nutrition to children in Haiti and parts of Africa, making their initiative a global effort.

BIGGBY® COFFEE is excited about this partnership as a way to brew change on a larger level and looks forward to partnering with organizations like This Bar Saves Lives in the coming years as a way to broaden who they work with and the type of impact they can have throughout the globe.

On a more localized effort, the BIGGBY® COFFEE Home Office has been known to donate and volunteer time to local food banks with their Give BIGG team, a group of Home Office employees that dedicate time each week to volunteer for the local East Lansing community.

BIGGBY® COFFEE strives to provide a fun, welcoming, unintimidating, and safe environment to all those that walk in their stores and hope over the coming years to make an even larger impact within their communities and throughout the world.

In 2018, BIGGBY^® launched an Area Representative Program and currently has 8 area representatives in 6 states.
