New operating procedures designed to preserve the health of customers and employees


June 12, 2020 (EAST LANSING, MI) – BIGGBY® COFFEE is committed to curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the communities we serve and love so much. The health and safety of our BIGGBY® Family, including the guests and baristas that make it so special, are our highest priority. For that reason, the next visit to your neighborhood BIGGBY® COFFEE cafe may look a little different.


BIGGBY® COFFEE cafes around the country have instituted new operating guidelines, implemented to preserve the wellbeing of our communities as we continue to serve you with love:

  • Increasing sanitation and cleaning procedures throughout all of our locations
  • Requiring regular health screenings for all employees and vendors
  • Limiting lobby capacity based on state requirements
  • Placing tables at least 6 feet apart to maintain social distancing and adding social distancing markings
  • Installing plexiglass shields at all customer-facing areas in most locations
  • Revising standard operating procedures to limit contact with orders, where possible
  • Asking all employees and customers to wear masks while inside the store (required in some states, but strongly encouraged for all guests)
  • Offering touchless payment options at our credit card readers
  • Recommending customers use the BIGGBY® App for rewards points, rather than their physical card
  • Removing self-serve areas like brewed coffee, retail coffee bins and condiments (simply let your barista know if you need any of these items!)
  • No longer offering refills on customer’s mugs and cups that have been previously used
  • Offering curbside pick-up at select locations
  • Partnering with DoorDash to offer delivery at select locations


These measures were instituted in alignment with the best practice recommendations and guidelines laid out by federal, state and local health experts and authorities. We appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times and we look forward to serving you with love!
