Lansing, Mich., July 14, 2009 – In celebration of fond childhood memories and the notion of “fun,” BIGGBY COFFEE will give away free Slo Pokes candy—the “Candy you ate as a kid®”—to the first 200 customers who purchase a regularly priced drink at each of its 103 stores on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
The give-away is the brainchild of BIGGBY COFFEE founding partner Michael McFall, who isn’t playing up a corporate promotional tie-in. Instead, he simply wants his customers to enjoy a happy childhood memory, on him.
“Slo Pokes played an important role in my childhood,” said Mcfall of the delicious caramel sucker that along with wax bottles, Zagnuts and candy cigarettes made up a lion’s share of his ‘balanced’ childhood diet. “I could make a single Slo Pokes last all day back then, and those were great days indeed.”
