Family Team Opens Mason Area BIGGBY COFFEE Location

Mason, Mich. May 9, 2008 – Lansing Mich.-based coffee retailer, BIGGBY COFFEE, will celebrate the opening of a new location in Mason on Tuesday. The store, located at 661 North Cedar Street in Mason, will open for business at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13 and offer free brewed coffee through Sunday to celebrate the occasion.


The Mason location will be the 94th location for the East Lansing-based coffee retailer. BIGGBY COFFEE currently operates stores in nine states, and has an additional 72 stores under development that will open in the U.S. in the next 24 months.


The Mason location of BIGGBY COFFEE is open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.  It is the first franchise for family team Lori and James De Young and Le and John Stewart.


“At Christmas one year, my mother and stepfather announced that they looking to open a coffee franchise,” said co-owner Lori DeYoung. “My husband and I looked at each other with surprise and said ‘us, too!’  “Going into business with my husband, mother and stepfather is a dream, and the BIGGBY COFFEE model fits our family: a warm atmosphere that brings people together.”


The Mason BIGGBY COFFEE location will combine its signature coffee drinks with free wireless internet, a drive through, large screen television, fireplace, a small meeting area, and outdoor seating.


The new store will bring nearly 20 new full and part-time jobs to Mason.
