You may remember Biggby (Beaners) Coffee's big drink giveaway in February
that coincided with the temporary closure of Starbucks.
I blogged here
about how the downtown Biggby closed during the giveaway rather than join with
all the other Biggby stores in the area in participating in the free
drink promotion.
Well, the downtown Biggby has a new owner, Steve Antaya, who already owns
three other Biggby shops.
Antaya is celebrating the change in ownership
(and perhaps atoning for the previous owner's decision to be a Grinch) by
holding a week-long grand reopening of the downtown Biggby beginning
Monday.
All week that store (and that store only) will be giving away
brewed coffee (any size!). That's a whole week of free coffee. (This does not
include your lattes, macchiatos and stuff like the Peanut Butter Cup Big
Chill.)
But wait, there's more. He's running the same promotion at the
new Biggby, 365 Michigan St. NE (in a new building next door to Subway) when
that store opens its doors on May 20.
The Monroe Center location is open
from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and 8
a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
The new store on the corner of Fuller and
Michigan streets will be open 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday after May
20.
