BIGGBY COFFEE READIES TO OPEN THIRD LOCATION IN PORTAGE, MI

Two-time franchisee opens location on W. Central Ave. on Tuesday, May 1

PORTAGE, Mich., April 9, 2012 – The city of Portage loves BIGGBY COFFEE and it shows! On Tuesday, May 1 the newest BIGGBY will open its doors at 3279 W. Centre Ave. in Portage, marking the city’s third location. In celebration of their grand opening, the store will offer tall, hot or iced, Caramel Marvels for just 99 cents day long!

The newest franchise of the East Lansing-based company also marks the twelfth location in the greater Kalamazoo area, something store owner and now two-time franchisee, Tom Dammer, says speaks for itself.

“BIGGBY has created an enormous fan base in West Michigan and really throughout the entire state of Michigan,” Dammer said. “Coming to BIGGBY is more than just a trip to the local coffee shop; it’s a welcoming, fun experience that keeps people coming back day after day.”

The tasty drink specials and opening celebration will continue for the rest of the week as customers can get some of BIGGBY’s most popular drinks for just 99 cents! To view and download the coupons for the daily deals, visit: http://bit.ly/ItfXHX

Dammer, along with store manager, Lisa Cox, will operate the store in Portage along with their second location in Battle Creek (5466 Beckley Rd.), which opened last month.

“It’s definitely been a very busy few months for us but seeing everything come together and the excitement from the community is well worth it,” Dammer said. “We are looking forward to all the city’s fun activities that come in the summer months and getting involved with different groups and organizations both in Portage and Battle Creek.”

Both of Dammer’s new stores feature a convenient drive-thru and free Wi-Fi access. Store hours are Monday- Saturday: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday: 7a.m.-9 p.m.

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprises guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 144 cafes open or under contract across seven states including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.  For more information, visit www.biggby.com.
